“The Rosary of the Virgin Mary, which gradually took form in the second millennium under the guidance of the Spirit of God, is a prayer loved by countless Saints and encouraged by the Magisterium. Simple yet profound, it still remains, at the dawn of this third millennium, a prayer of great significance, destined to bring forth a harvest of holiness.” – Pope John Paul II, ROSARIUM VIRGINIS MARIAE

The prayers of the rosary are those which unite all Catholics: The Sign of the Cross, Apostles’ CreedOur Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be. While the “Hail Holy Queen” may be less familiar to some, it is beautiful to learn.

Each year, our Grade 3 students participate in a Rosary Workshop in which they learn about the rosary and receive one of their own.  If your child does not have a rosary, stop by the religious education office and we would be happy to give one to him or her.

We hope the following playlist will help you to pray the rosary with your child and learn a little more about this beautiful and ancient form of prayer and contemplation. After the 10 min. introductory video, are videos you can pray along with for each of the four Mysteries of the Rosary: the Joyful Mysteries on Monday and Saturday, the Sorrowful Mysteries on Tuesday and Friday, the Glorious Mysteries on Wednesday and Sunday, and the Luminous Mysteries on Thursday.
