GRADE 5: The Bread of Life—Sacraments & Worship
The sacraments are major celebrations of the Church, which is, in the words of the Second Vatican Council, the universal sacrament of Salvation. We experience the sacraments as God’s people, as Church members, but we also experience the Church in the sacraments. Each of the seven sacraments is a unique experience, yet they share many similarities. All are encounters with God the Father in Christ and the Holy Spirit. They all receive their power from the suffering, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus Christ, and all are the Church’s public worship of God. While the Eucharist is the great sacrament of Christ’s presence among us, Christ is present in all seven sacraments.

Dear Parents – We hope you will love the experience of passing along your faith to your child and perhaps deepen your own understanding of it as well. In order to help you do this, we recommend that before you download the lesson plan for each session, take a few minutes just for yourself – to clear your mind of the many worries and distractions that are part of being a parent. We recommend this 3-Minute Retreat as a terrific way to do this – it really works and it is really only 3-minutes long!
Parents! Rather than forwarding your child’s session review results to us by email, use our New! Homeschool form to submit and keep track of the work he or she has completed.
