GRADE 6: I Am Who Am—The Old Testament

Click to preview book

The Old Testament tells the story of the Hebrew people and their faith in God. Reading the Bible with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and in light of Catholic Tradition can help reveal God’s plan for our lives. The Bible contains instruction about how we are to live as a human family. The pope and the bishops—the Magisterium—act together to help us interpret the Bible. The Church encourages us to read the Bible to learn about God, to grow in our relationship with God and with others, and to hear God’s message of love and forgiveness.

We raised $551.87 for the interfaith Community Dinner program hosted at the First Congregational Church in Stoneham. Jesse Tree Ornaments: Grade 6

Jesse Tree Ornaments: Grade 6The Jesse Tree represents the family tree, or genealogy of Jesus Christ. It tells the story of God's salvation plan, beginning with creation and continuing through the Old Testament, to the coming of the Messiah. The name comes from Isaiah 11:1, "But a shoot shall sprout from the stump of Jesse, and from his roots a bud shall blossom." Look for the Jesse Tree filled with ornaments colored by the sixth graders in Church this week and feel free to take one home with you after Mass has ended. Can you guess what each image above represents? Click "Read More" for the [more]
