GRADE 1: God Found Everything Good—God & Creator
God looked at and loved everything he had made and proclaimed it very good. All the heavens and the earth proclaim the presence of God who makes us, loves us, and wants us to be happy. We thank God for all he gives us by sharing with one another. In Grade 1, the faith focus is on God as our Creator and Father, on his creation, and on learning to care for his world. In addition, children will be taught to say the five essential prayers for all Catholics and will learn about saints, such as St. Francis of Assisi and St. Therese of the Child Jesus.

Dear Parents and Catechists, I decided to cancel Grade 1 religious education classes for December 17th due to the adverse weather forecast of possibly heavy snow and sleet Saturday morning. It is unfortunate, because we had planned a fun Christmas celebration for the children on our last day together before the Winter Break. As a consolation, I uploaded a picture book and video retelling of the Nativity story and a simple ornament activity to our OneDrive account for the children to do at home. Please watch the video (about 30 min) or read the book with your child and and [more]

The Religious Education Program is gearing up for the next installment of our ever popular Vacation Bible School this summer and are looking forward to singing, dancing and laughing with all our friends as we learn about the many ways God's Love is present in our lives. After such a stormy winter, we are all eager for the first signs of spring, but that doesn't mean we won't miss the snow and ice as we seek to "beat the heat" this summer. That's why, this July, we invite you to embark with us on an icy expedition to the heights of Everest, [more]
A Big Thanks! We are so grateful to all our religious education students and parents who donated so many tasty treats to our bake sale and volunteered to help set-up or sell items after Mass last Sunday. It was a beautiful thing to see 🙂 Our bake sale was a huge success! We raised $551.87 for the interfaith Community Dinner program hosted at the First Congregational Church in Stoneham. It's so good to support people who are our friends and neighbors, especially the elderly on fixed incomes who regularly attend the dinners. Save the Date! Our next scheduled service opportunity, the Souper Bowl of Caring [more]
